CASHMAN'S History

Cashman's Comics was established on July 1st, 1996 at it's current location in Bay City, Michigan. Pictured to your right is the infamous Cashman Building in Versailles, Ohio that belonged to my Great, Great, Great Grandfather Cornelius Cashman whom also had his own retail business back in the late 1900's. My father William P Cashman was also a retail Guru having worked for the Kresge / K-Mart Company for over 40 years. He started as a stock boy in Dayton Ohio at a Kresge 5 & Dime store were he met my Mother who was the store window designer and sign painter. He eventually worked his way up the company ladder to become the head of Far East Operations for K-Mart in Hong Kong and then later retired as a Senior Buyer for the K-Mart Corp in their heyday. Everything I know about retail and running a business I learned from both my mother and father. At the tender age of 14 I had my first job at a horseback riding stable that my mother owned as a trial guide and ranch manager. And the rest as they say, is history! As for the future someday I would like to see the store stay in the family in hopes of my daughter Savannah, or perhaps my son Donovan taking over the helm.

​Cashman's Comics was a proud sponsor of a Men's Modified Softball team in 2009, 2010 and 2011. 2010 they won first place in the Bay Softball Southern Division. Congratulations Team Cashman!
